Recently, the 12th Beijing International Senior Industry Expo was held at the National Convention Center in Beijing. As one of the representative enterprises of Haidian District’s senior industry, NEUREAL/Beijing Jingkang showcased its VR Cognitive Function Rehabilitation System at the Haidian booth, demonstrating the application and exploration of brain-computer interface (BCI) technology in smart elderly care.

Focusing on Smart Elder Care, Technological Applications Become the Core Highlight

This year’s expo, themed “Collaborative Efforts for a New Chapter in Silver Economy,” adopted an integrated exhibition model of “Exhibition + Conference + Competition + Festival,” gathering over 400 participating companies from fields such as smart elder care, age-friendly products, elderly services, and health and wellness. The smart elder care exhibition area featured products like rehabilitation robots, AI rehabilitation devices, and home intelligent monitoring systems, showcasing the application of technology in elderly care services.

VR Cognitive Function Rehabilitation System

The highlight of this exhibition was the VR Cognitive Function Rehabilitation System, which integrates non-invasive BCI, VR, and AI technologies, combined with theories from neuroscience. It focuses on digital cognitive training through the processes of “assessment—training—monitoring—feedback,” addressing application needs related to cognitive functions.

During the exhibition, Sui Zhenjiang, member of the Beijing Municipal Government and President of the Beijing Elderly Industry Association, visited the booth and listened to the staff’s introduction about the technical principles, application scenarios, and age-friendly features of the VR Cognitive Function Rehabilitation System.

Throughout the exhibition, the booth welcomed many visitors, including elderly attendees and professionals from elderly care institutions, rehabilitation hospitals, and community health centers. Some visitors commented that the system’s interactive methods were intuitive, the virtual scenes were immersive, and the training tasks were relevant to daily cognitive activities. On-site, some professional visitors also discussed the application pathways and cooperation models of the product in community and institutional elderly care settings with the team.

Parallel Progress in Technological Accumulation and Scenario Application

The value of technology lies not only in innovative exploration but also in addressing practical needs. Over its twelve editions, the Beijing Elderly Expo has provided a platform for product display and business matchmaking, as well as opportunities for the industry to understand elderly care needs, exchange experiences in technological applications, and promote industrial collaboration. Looking ahead, NEUREAL will continue to focus on the research, development, and application exploration of non-invasive BCI and VR cognitive rehabilitation, paying attention to the application of these technologies in community, home, and institutional rehabilitation settings.
