On September 22, the finals of the 2026 Global Brain-Computer Interface × Healthcare Insurance Innovation Scenario Competition, co-hosted by the National Healthcare Security Administration and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, concluded in Hangzhou. After two days of multi-round competitions, Hangzhou NEUREAL Technology Co., Ltd. won the third prize with its "BCI + VR Innovation" project.

China's First National BCI Healthcare Innovation Scenario Competition
Themed "Brain Wishes Come True, Machines Connect the Future," this competition is the first national-level event in China focusing on BCI and healthcare insurance innovation scenarios. Since its launch in June, it attracted 415 teams from 22 provinces (cities, districts) across China and countries including the US, UK, Germany, and Singapore. Following preliminary rounds, 251 projects advanced to the finals.
The competition focused on evaluating teams' comprehensive capabilities in brain signal acquisition, human-computer interaction efficiency, and practical application abilities, aiming to promote the implementation of BCI technology in rehabilitation assistance, health management, and smart devices. Duan Shumin, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and head of the expert panel, noted: "The competition does not judge solely by technical parameters but places greater emphasis on clinical adaptability, scenario practicality, and public accessibility."

During the final roadshow and defense, NEUREAL fully demonstrated its technical roadmap, application scenarios, and current implementation progress in the field of non-invasive brain-computer interface and AI integration. After comprehensive review by judges, the project won
the third prize in this competition.
Advancing Digital Applications of BCI through VR and AI+BCI
The award-winning project focuses on emotion and cognition decoding, establishing a complete closed-loop mechanism of "Perception—Analysis—Intervention—Feedback." The platform uses VR scenarios to trigger tasks, collects multimodal brain signals, and leverages AI large models for data analysis to support status assessment and plan formulation. It then combines VR, transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), and other technologies for targeted training, dynamically adjusting platform parameters based on users' real-time status.

Leveraging VR, artificial intelligence, and BCI technologies, the platform further explores the entire process of state perception, data analysis, and dynamic adjustment, providing a feasible technical reference path for digital applications in brain function-related fields.
Anchoring Healthcare Insurance Scenarios to Drive Continuous Technology Translation
BCI is a cutting-edge intersection of artificial intelligence and neuroscience, currently at a critical stage where policy, technology, and industry are jointly advancing. At the event, leaders from the National Healthcare Security Administration stated they would continue to improve pricing items and payment policies related to BCI, ensuring high-quality BCI innovations benefit patients faster.
Winning this award at a national-level competition marks an important milestone for NEUREAL in integrating non-invasive BCI with healthcare insurance innovation scenarios.
Going forward, NEUREAL will align with healthcare insurance innovation needs, focusing on productization exploration of non-invasive BCI and AI technologies, continuing application verification in brain function-related scenarios, and helping relevant technologies move toward practical application.
